BOARD MEETING, THIS THURSDAY (11/09/2023 @ 6PM)

The SFARC Board will be meeting this Thursday in the club Zoom room to discuss the end of the year activities’ and other projects in motion. All our welcome.

GENERAL MEETING, THIS FRIDAY (11/10/2023 @ 7:30)

Join us this Friday night for the last general meeting of 2023 in the gymnasium on the Crossroads Church South Campus. We’ll be voting in the next club leaders so please attend in person or on Zoom so we can have a quorum.  The following officers are being considered:

SFARC MEMBERS IN ACTION
If you missed it, our very own ARES liaison Scott Read (KM6RFB) was featured as a guest on WaveTalkers to discuss the role of the Communications Technician, commonly referred to as the ComT. Scott is a certified ComT, and will walk us through the role and his Go Kit. We will explore how the role of a ComT was leveraged during a recent large scale incident training exercise. We’ve got some fun lined up this week.
 
FOX HUNT THIS WEEKEND!
The hunt is on October 28th, 2023 with Fox Tender Doug (W2VX) and Jon (KI6RT). We’re going to meet after the SFARC Club Breakfast at the pre-hunt meeting (9 AM in the Mel’s parking lot). If you’ve never done a fox hunt before, rusty, or if you don’t have radio direction finder equipment, ask to ride along with an experienced Fox Hunter! Team hunting is a blast! LET’S BREAK BREAD… OR MAYBE PANCAKES AND WAFFLES – CLUB BREAKFAST
The SFARC monthly breakfast is this Saturday October 28th @ 7:30 AM at Mel’s Diner in Auburn.  Make sure to come early to get a seat at the big kids table.

We’ve got another fun week ahead of us with a breakfast, a fox hunt, and a meeting right around the corner.
 
CLUB BREAKFAST – THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
Join the club this Saturday at 0730 for breakfast at Mel’s in Auburn. Come early or sit at the kids table. 🙂
 
FOX HUNT – THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
After the club breakfast at Mel’s we’re going to go out and hunt some foxes! We’ll be firing up a 1-watt “Baofox” on 146.565 Mhz at 0930. Our fox hunts are family and pet friendly, anyone can participate, and no license is required! CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR GEORGE (KG6LSB), THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH
George Simmons (KG6LSB) was a beloved club member and friend of SFARC. Earlier this year, George became a silent key. A celebration of life will be at 10 AM on September 17 at VFW Hall at 100 East Street in Auburn. Everyone is welcome!
